This classic cocktail originated in the united states and dates back to the 1890s. It was considered a fashionable drink of the time, and after world war II the whiskey highball became fashionable in Japan as well.
Typically the whiskey highball consists of whiskey, soda water, and a twist of lemon. Nowadays, however, you’ll find trendy bars and restaurants adding their own “twist” on the classic.
Recipe Tips
Add a squeeze of lemon if you prefer a more balanced (and less strong) whiskey flavor.
What kind of glass should I serve a whiskey highball in?
A highball glass is the best option to sesrve a whiskey highball. If you don’t have that handy, you can also use a tom colins glass.
